Q: What is this program about?
A: This is an 8-week series of mindfulness and movement lessons designed for students of all grade levels. Each session combines breathing, reflection, and learning simple yoga poses in a fun and engaging way through storytelling and mindfulness lessons. Students gain tools to regulate emotions, improve focus, and strengthen social–emotional learning skills.

Q: How is this different from a traditional yoga class?
A: While students learn yoga poses, the focus is on mindfulness and self-awareness. Poses are introduced through playful storytelling and tied to mindfulness themes, making them developmentally appropriate, accessible, and fun for all ages.

Q: What benefits will students gain?
A: Students build focus and attention, develop emotional awareness, learn strategies to manage stress, and practice empathy and kindness toward peers. These skills support academic learning, healthy relationships, and a positive classroom climate.

Q: How does this support teachers and schools?
A: Teachers often notice smoother transitions, fewer disruptions, and more engaged learners. Because the practices are short and easy to integrate, teachers can continue using them even after the 8-week program ends.

Q: Does the program align with SEL or DEI goals?
A: Yes. The curriculum is aligned with CASEL SEL competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making). Activities are culturally responsive and inclusive, ensuring that all students can participate and benefit.

Q: How do schools fund the program?
A: I work directly with schools and teachers to write grants or secure private funding to make the program accessible to all students.

Q: What are your qualifications?
A: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in trauma-informed teaching. I am a K–8 certified mindfulness teacher through Mindful Schools in Berkeley, CA, and a 500-hour Yoga Alliance–certified instructor. Since 2014, I have been teaching yoga and mindfulness to children of all ages, integrating developmentally appropriate practices that support both learning and well-being.
